For a major home addition in Surrey, BC, we applied ½lb open-cell spray foam to the roofing, with a blue vapor barrier paint layer over it. For the walls, we added 2lb closed-cell spray foam, concentrating on box ends, all concrete surfaces, and wood walls containing plumbing lines. This method ensures compliance with building codes, which require full R-value insulation behind plumbing lines. The closed-cell foam was selected for its superior R-value per inch, effectively meeting the required standards

The Importance of R-Value:

  • Element Testimonials
Energy Efficiency: Higher R-values mean better insulation, which translates to less heat loss in winter and less heat gain in summer, leading to lower energy bills and increased comfort.
  • Element Testimonials
Climate Control: Insulation with a high R-value helps maintain a stable and comfortable indoor temperature, regardless of the weather outside.

Air Sealing: Spray foam, especially closed-cell, also functions as an air barrier, preventing drafts and improving overall insulation performance.
